Our work
Forward ME coordinates several working groups, each focused on a key area where collaborative action can drive meaningful progress for people with ME. These groups bring together representatives from member organisations, experts, and people with lived experience to ensure that all perspectives inform Forward MEβs collective work.
Each group works to identify emerging issues, develop shared positions, produce statements or reports, and support coordinated advocacy. Their work ensures that Forward ME can respond rapidly and effectively to developments in healthcare, research, or public policy while maintaining a unified, evidence-informed voice.
Our Working Groups
Our Working Groups are aligned to the main themes of the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) Final Delivery Plan for ME/CFS that was published in 2025. These themes are Research, Attitudes and Education, and Living with ME. The Living with ME theme has been divided into sub-themes for the purposes of the working groups.
Each working group is monitoring the actions in the Final Delivery Plan, as part of holding the DHSC accountable. They are also pursuing actions that were proposed to the DHSC and not included in the Final Delivery Plan, and exploring more creative ways of meeting the needs of the population of people living with ME according to their theme. Forward ME working groups are listed below:
